Toddler porn

Before becoming a Mommy, I was an ardent advocate and feminist for the “Nurture” side of Nature vs Nurture. Go women engineers! Go male ballerinas! And I believed that temperament was more influenced by family, education, conditioning, culture. Then I had a boy. Who came out of the womb loving motorcycles, dump trucks, garbage trucks, firetrucks, and diggers, in order of level of excitement, least to best. Here are 3 sitings that never fail to greatly slow progress to getting anywhere on time if there are sightings:

1) Firetruck. This one, thankfully, often passes quickly with sirens and bells…

2) Garbage truck.

This one can be a longer delay as it entails waiting to watch many, many bins to be lifted and dumped with a lovely, stinky background stench.

And this one…
                    drumroll please…..
…………………………the DIGGER is cause for re-routeing the trips to get anywhere.
If necessary to arrive somewhere on time, Mama should research all possible construction sites beforehand and AVOID diggers before any toddler sightings are possible. However, what Mama has time to do this, so I have to say, I have found construction workers as well as fire and garbage truck drivers to be very tolerant of toddler boys (and I assume, girls, but maybe that is my still hopeful feminist psychologist) watching them work in awe. Go Mommytime (add 30 minutes to any preplanned arrival time).
This Mama has discovered the joys of iphone video-ing in order to keep said toddler happy while dinner is being prepared, so feel free to add it to your bag of tricks (click on “toddler porn” video in the link below):
